Community Events
The Chilsworthy Village Summer Fete is being held on 7th August 2010 to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the opening of our Village Hall. Lots of stalls, children's activities, fun and frolic. Come along and join in. The fun kicks off at 1pm with a grand opening followed by Tug o' War, Knobbly Knees contest (participants required), Fruit & Flower Contest, Coconut shy, Dart a Committee Member, White Elephant Stall, Stocks, Cream Teas, BBQ, RNLI stall and much much more. Don't miss the decorated wheelbarrow competition, all you have to do is dress your wheelbarrow and put it out in Chilsworthy for the judges to see. Prize for the most creative use of a wheelbarrow!! Children's Fancy Dress Competition will be judged at 2:15pm with children being divided into two age groups. Money raised will be divided between North Devon Hospice and Chilsworthy Village Hall. The Fruit & Flower contest will include Vegetables: Best Tomatoes, Carrots, Runner Beans (display 3 of each) Largest Onion, Longest Runner Bean and "My Funny Vegetable". Flower: Roses (Vase Pink, Vase Yellow, Vase Mixed Colours), arrangement of 3 white flowers only (plus foliage ) and a Wild Flower Arrangement.

The Parish Council will also have a stall providing parishioners with information on its work / current projects and to hear from parishioners on any specific items of interest or concern relating to the Holsworthy Hamlets Parish.
Donations welcome for the Bric-a-Brac stall, Bottle Tombola, Raffle and Book stall. Please bring donations for the Cake Stall either during the morning of the Fete or as close as possible to 1pm on the day. For the Vegetable and Flower Competition, entries need to be at the Hall no later than 11am on the 7th. Judging will commence at 12 noon and awards given out at 4.30pm.

Coffee Mornings - Everyone is very welcome at the Village Coffee Mornings. Why not pop along:- Chilsworthy Village Hall Thursday 5th August from 10:00 - 11:30, the Stable on Tuesday 17th August from 10:00 - 12:00 noon or at Chilsworthy Village Hall on Thursday 2nd September from 10:00 - 11:30
Soup & A Sweet Lunch - The next lunch will be on Tuesday 7th September 2010 at 12:30 at the Chilsworthy Village Hall. Entrance £4 for soup, rolls and butter, sweets, tea & coffee. There will be another lunch on Tuesday 9th November so make it a date in your diary.
Concert at Chilsworthy Village Hall - The "Chilsworthy Melody Maids" wil be giving a concert in aid of Hall funds on Friday 10th September 2010. Tickets £3.50. Bar and Raffle. Come and support your wonderful Chilsworthy Singers!
Village Dance - The ever popular "Texans" will be coming to the Village Hall for a Dance on Friday 1st October 2010. Entrance £5. Bring and share supper.
Barn Dance - This will be held at the Village Hall on Saturday 16th October 2010 with Jerry and Alison again as our expert callers. Entrance £4. Bring and share supper.
May Day BBQ and Plant Sale - Following this year's success, another event will be held next year on Monday 2nd May 2011 at Chilsworthy Village Hall.
