The wheelchair accessible bus offers a service between Holsworthy Hospital and the North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple, via Torrington Hospital. The trial service, which was launched back in June and is due to continue until the end of March 2010, makes four return trips per weekday. Those wishing to use the service should register 48 hours in advance by ringing North Tamar Community Transport Association (NTCTA) on 01409 259001. The subsidised single fare costs £5 and a return is £10 - for an up-to-date timetable ring NTCTA.

Ring n Ride is a wheelchair accessible minibus taking people from their homes for shopping and other trips. The driver will help people on and off the bus and help with shopping. Volunteers are also available request to accompany you and help with wheelchairs. A manual wheelchair is available by prior booking. Those who have no access to transport of their own, and difficulty accessing public transport can use this service. This applies both to households completely lacking access to transport and in other cases as well - e.g. in a young family where there is only one car and one parent goes out to work, the other parent and child/ren would be eligible. It operates from your home to local towns, for shopping or appointments according to a published schedule. There is one trip each weekday from two or three Zones in our area to a different destination each day. Fares vary with destination: £3.00 upwards. -
